Preparation:
Make sure your phone battery is charged to 70% or more
Make sure you install the LG USB Driver on your PC, if you haven’t already.
All G4 (except Verizon) Version 3.14.1
Backup your device data
Enable USB Debugging, by open Settings > Developers Option > USB Debugging
If Developers Option is hidden, go to Settings->About Phone->Software Info > build number (tap on it for 5-8 times)

HOW TO ROOT LG G4 SPRINT LS991 WITHOUT BOOTLOADER UNLOCK:
Extract the tar.gz file you downloaded for your phone, and move the resulting “system.rooted.phonemodel.img” file to the root of your phone’s internal SD card with MTP mode.
Boot the device into Download Mode. Power off your device, When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC. (this method may vary from device to device)
Wait for the drivers to install
After it finishes, double click ports.bat on LG_Root folder (This will give us the COM port in which our device is connected we are looking for the Diag port)
Open LG_Root folder and hold shift and right click on UPDATE SUPERSU and select
“Open command window here“
Keep the device in Download mode, and copy+paste following command But replace COM4 with the COM number you found in COM port:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM4
Type “id” and press enter (no quotes).
Next, run this command:
dd if=/data/media/0/system.rooted.LS991ZV5.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
Wait a few minutes and you should get back a “#” prompt. This indicates the process has finished.
Type “LEAVE” (no quotes) and press enter. Your phone should reboot, and your phone will be rooted.
